Do an Online Course this year 2022.

Do an Online Course this year 2022. #Post1

This is to you the young men and women who just finished from high school or are still looking for opportunities to continue to tertiary level.
Spaces at universities are limited, including vocational centers. Even if you do find a space, school fees per semester are outrages. They keep increasing every year. To a certain degree, many higher ed institutions lack quality in their programs. You do not get the value for money from the program offered. There are many factors that add to this.

Here is my suggestion.

Why not consider taking a course online. There are many opportunities for online courses available (ensure the courses you are taking are from credible sources) and some cost way less than a certificate program you will get from any of the local institutions in the country. Platforms like Udemy, Fedex, Coursera and others offer online programs in partnership with well known universities. Which means for some programs you do them under these platforms but certificates offered are from the affilitated universities offering the program. There are many options for skills specific courses and I will be sharing some of them on this page in my next posts. Some online courses are free while others you have to purchase to receive a certificate.

Here is what you need to do first, ensure you have a visa card, apply for one through you local bank. I got one from BSP and have been using it to purchase courses online. Once you have your Visa card which is linked to your local bank account you will be able to make online purchases using that. One experience I have had with Visa card is that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't when I enter in the card details to purchase the course. The workaround to this which has always worked for me is to create a Paypal account and link it to my Visa card. In that way, I have been able to purchase online courses with ease using Paypal instead of the Visa. I've also been able to use the paypal account to purchase other stuff online apart from courses. I've helped a few of my colleagues purchase online courses this way. If you do not have a visa card or paypal account ask your parents, or family even friends to help you.

The next thing is you can either use your phone or if you do have a laptop or desktop computer you can use your phone to purchase credits to access internet to do the online course or you can invest in a wireless or wired modem (depending on where you are located) to be able to access the internet. These days everyone is using their phones to access internet so you can just use your phone. A tip is to use the USB tethering feature on your phone to use the data on your phone to access internet from your laptop.
And then create a self study schedule based on the course duration and off you go. It will require dedication and commitment from you to actually complete the course. Some are self-paced, you work at it in your own time and pace, while others are instructor-led with a set start date/time.

Off you go now...You can do it! Its not hard!
