Poem: Goodbye My Dear Friend

I’m not good in writing poems but I decided to write this one today (23.02.16) dedicated to my former teacher, mentor, toastmasters coach and a special friend, late Mr. Jun Pasilabban.

Goodbye – My Dear Friend
Written by Picky Airi

Morning tea today
Wasn’t like any other day

Saw the empty table at which we shared
Jokes, laughter, fears we had

It was only yesterday
We had a cup of tea to start the day

A gift of friendship you gave
A lovely bracelet, my daughter’s fave

You never said anything
To me life was in full swing

But it’s now clear
Goodbye - my friend I hold dear

Never again will I drop-by
For mechado , pancit, or my fave batchoy

I will never forget what you did
For there is nothing you ever hid

*Paalam, you once told me
*Bamahuta, I wish I told you

So this is what I’ll say my friend
You left a legacy that will never end!

Rest In Eternal Peace.
Jun Salvador Pasilabban

Paalam is Goodbye in Tagalog (Philippines) and Bamahuta is goodbye in Motu (Central) language
